The Skill in Demand (SID) visa is Australia’s main temporary skilled visa, replacing the TSS 482 visa. It allows employers to address workforce shortages with global talent. Key points: Streams: Core Skills, Specialist Skills, and Labour Agreement (ILA or DAMA) Visa length: Up to 4 years, with pathways to permanent residency Requirements: Eligible role on the skilled occupation list or covered by a Labour Agreement Candidate must meet skills, experience, and English language benchmarks Employer must be an approved sponsor and pay above TSMIT/CSIT ($76,515 from 1 July 2025) Family access: Workers can bring eligible dependents with full work and study rights
